Everett Gym Earns Men's Health Magazine
Top Training Nod - Again
(Everett,
MA) Total Performance Sports, a small, local gym in Everett,
MA, was selected by Men's Health magazine as one of the country's
30 Best Gyms in its March 2008 issue. This is the gym's second nod by
Men's Health since being chosen for the same nomination in September
2005, and one in a string of recent national accolades, for the facility which
specializes in personal training, group fitness classes, strength & conditioning,
boxing and kickboxing.
Known for unique training philosophies,
Total Performance Sports' co-owner C.J. Murphy and staff blend elements from
a variety of disciplines to create fun but highly effective workout programs
for their clients. "We take a no-nonsense approach to fitness",
says Murphy. "By adding basic training tools such as sandbags, medicine
balls, tire flipping and kettlebells to our client's workouts, it helps them
to break through plateaus faster and see better results in their overall
strength and fitness levels."
According
to the article, "Our list of the country's 30 best gyms…is defined
by the only criteria that truly matters: results. Make that, big results."
From the bride looking to get into shape for the big day to the high school
athlete who needs that extra edge on the field, being purpose driven and
results oriented, members drive from as far away as Wayland MA and Nashua,
NH to work out at the new location.
Murphy is also quick to point
out that the facility is fully equipped for the iron sports competitor as
well. "A lot of guys want to lift heavy or compete but have no
place to train. Most commercial gyms have removed their heavier dumbbells,
banned chalk, and limited the amount of weight customers can use in a trend
to push the heavier lifters away from their "main street" clientele.
Our facility is just the opposite! Total Performance is for everyone,
including people who want to train heavy. From our strongman equipment
and power racks to dumbbells over 120lbs, heavy lifters have everything they
need to work out to a friendly and encouraging environment and use as much
weight on the bar as they want."
