A word to those interested in competing, GET YOUR APPLICATION IN NOW!
We have about 50 athletes registered already and that is unheard of this far out. If you want to lift, don’t wait. This is not a sales technique, once it’s full, it’s full and we can’t take anymore athletes.
We also need a crew of spotters and floor crew for the night before and the two days of lifting. If you are not planning on doing the meet, please let [email protected] know if you can help us out.
Please join us at the Everett Rec Center for a day of strength and show your support for TPS lifters and Everett Pop Warner. We also need help for this one too. If you can volunteer to be a spotter at the meet let [email protected] know.

If you are not familiar with powerlifting, it is a sport where athletes compete in the Squat, Bench Press and the deadlift. The athletes have 3 attempts at each lift and the goal is to lift as much weight as possible one time. We then tally up the amount of weight lifted on each and that is the total. The person with the highest total in each weight class wins.

TPS and RPS are hosting the first ever TPS powerlifting meet coming this October 12th&13th. This meet will be held at the Everett Recreation Center on Elm Street in Everett. If you have never competed in a meet, this is a great opportunity for a few reasons:
- It is local and you hardly ever see a powerlifting meet in Boston
- RPS meets are well run and fun
- You’ll know a bunch of people there from the gym
- It’s fun
If you have done a meet before, but not one of Gene’s meets you are missing out. Gene has some of the best meets I have ever been to. They are well run, efficient and there are a lot of great people there. Give RPS a shot.
