Lodrina Cherne just killed it again!
Here is a recap in her own words:
I lifted in the USAPL American Open in Boston on December 5th in the equipped 63kg class. This was my first full power equipped meet where I did a quick five-week training cycle to break in my suits/shirt and learn the lifts to competition standard. My goal was to get a total and I succeeded with a 314lb squat, 198lb bench, and 380lb deadlift. This was good for second place in my division and a really exciting way to change up training.
The following weekend I traveled to Georgia for the USAPL Georgia & Southern States Championship where I competed raw in the 63kg class. I wanted to place well and earn team points for Goggins Force; the better the placing, the more team points that are added to the team score. I had a 275lb squat, 165lb bench, and 358lb deadlift. This was a tie in many ways: a tie of my best raw total with no peaking for this meet, a tie for first place in the 63 class on weight lifted, and a tie on points between my team and the other team in contention for the state title. The tie in my weight class went back to bodyweight where I won for being the lighter lifter and the team count back went to overall first place wins. On count back, my winning first place in the 63’s also secured the team title for Goggins Force.
Doing two meets competing heavier than my normal weight class with goals that were not tied to specific numbers in the squat, bench, or deadlift was a lot of fun. Next up: training for the IPF Raw Challenge at the Arnold in March.
Lump of Coal
I am short on time but wanted to congratulate all of the ladies in the TPS Method for Powerlifitng.
They just lifted for charity at the RPS Lump of Coal meet in Western Mass. Everyone smashed PR’s and had a great time.
This meet was a Push/Pull which means no squats, just bench and deadlift. They did this a tune up meet for the RPS April Meet in Connecticut.
World’s Strongest Granny:
Jane Stabile of TPS is qualified to lift at the Arnold Classic in March. This is the big show in Powerlifting.
Jane just got her first Elite total a few months back and will be looking to build on tha by smashing even more weights at the Arnold.
I’ll let you know how she does.
More Arnold Stuff
TPS has a few people training for the Arnold in Strongman and Powerlifting. I know Brittany Diamond is getting ready but I don’t have names on everyone else!
Athletes, please let me know when you have meets coming up so we can give you some well-deserved recognition.
