On March 6th, TPS member Jack Louie competed in the “Battle of the Badges” boxing event hosted by, the Massachusetts State Police at the Sturbridge Host Hotel.
The Massachusetts State police boxing team invited the Denver Colorado Police force, Mass. Department of Corrections, and the Connecticut State Police force to participate in a boxing match that featured multiple bouts. It was here that Jack Louie in the 145 pound weight class division boxed his opponent from Denver Colorado, and won by unanimous decision. Jack is now 2-0 in this annual bout and has Coach Eddie Alvarez and Eric Dawson to thank for that.
Jack has been working with Coach Alvarez for the better part of 2 years now, and has improved greatly as a fighter both physically and technically. Coach Alvarez’s fighters have always stolen the lime light when competing in locally and nationally sanctioned events. His fighters display a distinct fighting style and poise in the ring that uniquely identifies them as his own and some of the biggest names in coaching have taken notice.
Jack also enlisted the services of Pro-Strongman/Coach Eric Dawson to help with getting stronger more explosive and in shape for this fight. Needless to say Jack was able to throw down and win the decision of the judges with a fighter who had what seemed like more than a 4 inch reach advantage over him. Jack won’t hesitate in saying he did well in the ring because he was well prepared by some of the finest coaches in Massachusetts let alone in the country. A job well done to Coach Alvarez, Dawson and TPS member, Jack Louie.
