    WPC World Powerlifting Championships

Jane “Bad Apple” Stabile, her daughter Kim Stabile and Murph trekked down to Florida for the World Championships last month. Jane is a veteran of World level events but this was Kim’s first time competing at this level.

Kim had a great day and got lots of experience that will allow her to improve in the future. Kim
    hit a 236.5 PR Squat, a 181.5 Bench and a 275 PR Deadlift for a PR total of 693.2lbs.

    Great work Kim!

Jane had one of the best training cycles of her lifting career but sadly it didn’t transfer to the platform. She had some difficulty in the squats and couldn’t continue the meet. She gave 100% and will go back to the drawing board so that she dominates at the next one.

She’ll always be a champion to me.

    Fight for Air

Our resident Awesome Camper, powerlifter and legendary local sportswriter, Stephen
Tobey is doing the Fight for Air walk in February of 2015 and he wants you to do it too!

Info on Fight for Air from their website:

Fight for Air Climbs are the American Lung Association’s most unique fundraisers. Climbs take place in prominent skyscrapers, stadiums or arenas and involve walking, running or racing up hundreds of steps. Sometimes called a “vertical road race”, teams and individual participants can use the event as a fitness target, as a race, or as a great way to be active and meet new friends.

We know a lot about lung disease, but there is so much we don’t know. Your participation will raise the funds necessary to provide lifesaving education, research and advocacy so we can beat lung disease and soon find a cure.
